In this day and age where AI and Photoshop platforms exist it can be very easy for people to convince others of things that didn't happen and make up random scenarios that are far from the truth. I've fallen victim to believing multiple different fake news articles and videos and I've witnessed others doing the same. The elders and the young children I know especially tend to be very gullible to false information spread on the media.
